What is a Literary Cocktail?

A literary cocktail is a drink designed around a novel, short story, film/series, or other literary work. It can be a literary piece created by you or for a piece you love. We have done cocktails based on Stephen King novels, Edgar Allen Poe, Wheel of Time, The Legend of Vox Machina, and Rip Van Winkle to name a few. Use a cocktail to create an ambiance that reflects your latest release or your favorite novel, scene, character, or series. We can also craft yet to be realized cocktails, meaning if your book or favorite book mentions a cocktail - like the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster - and it does not exist, we can make it a reality!

Note: We offer the option of cocktail designs that contain alcohol (Cocktail) and (Neutral Cocktail) designs that are alcohol-free. 

Why should I have a Literary Cocktail designed?

In short, because they are fun! Also, because it is a great way to memorialize your literary creations or a fantastic book or series that means a lot to you. It is also a great way to ensure your books are remembered, as scent and taste are closest linked to memory. Imagine someone reading your novel with a fantastic sensory experience to create the perfect ambiance. They will love your novel, so why not make it more memorable by tying it to the readers senses?! If your book features a lavender field, why not make a lavender centered cocktail to bring the reader into the scene?

Cocktails can be designed for many occasions, not just literary occasions. Here are a few examples:

• Your book launch! Have a custom cocktail to serve at your launch, with suggested food pairings.
• A book club. Grab a high-end cocktail and discuss the ins and outs of the book you all are devouring.
  
• Increase connection to your book. Already have a book released? Why not add a custom cocktail and do a new round of marketing?
  
• Personal enjoyment. Is there a series you love? Have a custom cocktail designed to sip on and allow yourself to be whisked away to far off lands through your imagination and senses.
  
• Viewing parties. Gather friends together and share a custom cocktail while you watch the newest episode.
  
• Weddings, Birthdays, or Other Life Events. Custom cocktails are not just for literary means, but for all life events.
  

How does it work?

The first step in the process is a free in-person or virtual consultation to discuss your needs and expectations. We will discuss the literary piece, occasion, desired impact, flavors, appearance, and other key items. Once we have an idea of requirements, we discuss the cost and tier for your cocktail. You then are able to decide to move forward or take some time to consider the offer.

Available Tiers:

• Open Cocktail - This lower tier allows for the cocktail to be open to the public once your event is complete. You have exclusivity of the recipe until the event is complete, then the photo and recipe will be added to the WSP Cocktail Portfolio page. The video instructions may be made available on WSP social media sites. Also included is a photo of the drink, tips and tricks, required tools, and more.
• Closed Cocktail - This upper tier grants exclusivity to the recipe, during and after your event. The photo and name of the cocktail will be added to the WSP Cocktail Portfolio, but the recipe and ingredients will not be made available. Alternatively, you may choose to have the cocktail and recipe listed on the WSP Cocktail Portfolio Page and have the concept attributed to you with a link to your website. Also included is a photo of the drink, tips and tricks, required tools, and more.

Once everything is decided upon, WSP will begin crafting the custom cocktail and create a digital package to go along with it. You will be updated at key points through the process and may be asked to confirm certain details as the cocktail unfolds. When the cocktail is ready, there will be another virtual meeting to discuss the cocktail, the results, and show how to make it. Once it is agreed upon, the digital package is sent with all you need to create the cocktail at home. Should any concerns arise, a follow up meeting can be arranged to discuss.
